If youre fancying tying your own flies, Its not as daunting as itmay at first seem.
Id advise you to buy a quality vice, cheaper ones have softer jaws, and dont always grip the hook tight enough, say when you need to stretch a tying material, as in a jellythread buzzer.
Id say pay a minimum of £25.
Start with simple flies, buzzers, and streamer lures, till you feel you can improve.
Your first fish on your own fly is a real buzz.
Heres a few sites I thought might be helpful. some are American, though, youd look strange with a 2" deer hair popper in the style of a dormouse!
