Fished there on Sunday afternoon with a mate.

When we arrived a few anglers were coming of the boats with a few nice fish.
Thought this is going to be canny

Conditions seemed good so i picked me spot on the bank, just next to the boat jetty.

Set up with an intermediate line, fisrt cast and bang or rather a small pop, fish on.
    Pulled out a Roach

Changed to a floating line as there were one or two fish coming to the surface.

Within half an hour of being there the conditions changed the temperature dropped and the fish that we had seen topping were gone

The wind picked up a little which made it a bit difficult for a novice like me

For the next three hours i plugged away at it using various different fluffy things to no avail.

My mate got one nice fish on and when it lept it looked like a canny fish.
It stripped a canny bit line and then spat the hook

After three and half hours we decided that a nice warm house and beer seemed a better idea, so we packed up and came home.

Reading the log all the fish had been caught before we arrived and everyone else on the lake, that had arrived just before us had struggled and manged nowt as well.

Not to worry, it's another venue under my belt and I really enjoyed myself

    Cheers

            Hi Tompa

Langley can be a hard water but the scenery is fantastic and staff very friendly.

Keep trying the fish are stocked from the same fish farm as tweedale and are very hard fighting.

I was talking to the fishery manager last summer nice bloke. He loves people to catch and gave me loads of advice.

He like a good turn over of fish his words.

                Cheers lads.

Think the fish caught on sunday were with little black fly type things and also daddy longlegs type things ( Sorry about this, I'll learn the names eventually! ) They were also mainly taken from the wood side.
Most were coming from the people on the boats, the bankside didn't really produce much.

Like you say nigels the scenery is fantastic.
I used to coarse fish many moons ago and I'm starting to realise just how much I took the scenery on ponds etc..for granted way back then.

Anyway I'll be back to try again at some point and a few other places.
Might see some of you lads around during the summer.
You'll know it's me if you tell me what the fish are being caught on and a stare at you blankly not having a clue what you are talking about!! Lol

                Cheers
