  • Fab day in Scotland

Arrived at Tweedale yesterday morning at approx 08:30 to be greeted with a bright sky and very little movement on the water.
Set up with an intermediate line and a team of 3 buzzers (buzzers had caught the previous day) all plain black, after 30 mins or so the rod was nearly pulled out of my hand, what a take. After playing the fish a nice 5 pounder came to the net.
I decided to try Richards fly's ( posted previously ) I had a couple of offers but nothing stuck.
The afternoon brought some cloud cover and fish started to show, put the buzzers back on and duly caught by 3 fish bag for a total of 13lbs.
Tried Richards flies again and all hell let loose, 6 casts, 6 fish, all on his Dinky Do pattern, I then removed his flies and tried other patterns and only got limited success.
Richards flies went back on and it was pandimonium, what a pattern, this fly should carry a serious fish Health Warning.
Anyway guys, had a cracking day on a cracking fishery and can't wait for my next trip.
Just a little thank you to Richard, cheers mate.

Hi Mate, Tweeddale Fishery is near a village called Gifford, East Lothian situated on the B6355 Duns road. Depending on where you live there is a couple of ways to get there.
You can travel up the A1 to Haddington thru to Gifford then on to the fishery, going this way you actually double back on yourself but by going the A1 route it is better road conditions. You can also travel to Wooler, onto Duns then over the moors to Tweeddale, the average time from Stakeford is approx 1 3/4hrs (80 mile ).
Prices vary according to the hours you fish, we normally fish 6hrs 3 fish for £21 then catch and release. there is a sporting ticket if you don't care to kill your fish, If you ring the fishery on 01620 810009 the guy in charge will give you all the details.
Flys obviously vary depending on the conditions but you wont go wrong with Buzzers, cdc, various lures and some of Richards fly's if you can get your hands on some.
Hope this info is of some help.
Best of luck with your fishing seddo

                Good Angling

                Good Angling Mate!

Told you those flies were a bit special! I'm glad to see they did the business! Great report too! Just come back from fishing the Lexus down at Rutland. Was extremely windy, like fishing on the north sea. Literally only had a handfull of pulls. Not a lot getting caught. Was won by Masterline Team Esthwaite.

                  Check your PMs Richard.
Thanks for the comments guys but bear in mind, A good days fishing may not be so good the next day. The fish at Tweeddale don't actually jump into your bag but I can honestly say it is very well stocked.
Best of luck if any of you travel up that way.

Its Coldinghham Locke for me next week.
