thought id give this place a go as its only half an hour away and i've never been before. went for a 4 hour C+R and after 4 hours i had exactly zero fish! hard going. but spoke to the manager as he was walking round and he said i could just pop a few quid in the box before i left if i wanted to stay a bit longer. seen a few fish moving on the top so went for the good old daddy again which has got me loads of fish recently, missed about 6-7 takes, they weren't taking the fly just nudging it and not coming back even when i left it. was getting pretty frustrated but kept plodding along until about 12ft out a big mouth very confidently head and tailed scranning it and i had a fish on!
Wasn't fighting like a rainbow and made some very strong runs for a tree in the water. i thought getin a big brown! nope not a brown but a tiger trout! probably about 4lb and my first ever tiger. what a fish! fish went off straight after i landed it so i went home

That's a great result Ozzy, I'd love to catch a tiger trout......what a great looking fish. I keep meaning to have a trip to Langley dam as I've heard some good reports about the place.

      Regards Ian

aye i kept meaning to go for ages but always ended up picking somewhere else for some reason, really glad i went now. It's a nice lake. not too big that its daunting but not so small the fish would be under a lot of pressure. some very big fish in there from what i seen jumping. i rekon when the fish are 'on' you could have some kanny sessions there. gunna try a boat next time too
