Lol mate, I can see where your coming from with the expense. To be honest it would be very much a summer thing if I look into it just floater fishing in leazes when time allows. Funny thing is time, there's bags of it but never enough to do what you need to eh.

        Leazes Park

Have fished the Leazes Park for the past 14 months and totalling approx 590 hours of fishing. I have to admit I was very, very reluctant to fish the Leazes but I'm very pleased I did I have met some very nice and helpful anglers from the LPAA and from other clubs and those fishing on day tickets. I have also met some very nice members of the public even though they ask the same questions time and time again. Yes you get those under the influence of alcohol or drugs in the park as I'm sure you do on the piers. Anglers who have fished overnighters have never reported anything unusual and comment on how quiet the park becomes at night How often do you see police paroling the piers ? as the park is in the City centre a police patrol will be seen driving through the park and if not already on site aren't that far away if there required
So to sum it up. The Leazes Park NOT the normal club or fisheries water its a City Centre Public Park which as an angler wishing to fish the lake you have to share the space with whoever and whatever is wanting to use that same space..

            Leazes Park

You would of got some cracking shots of the Carp (david.northeast) if you had been there when they were spawning, your second photo area known as the bay (no fishing area) the Carp smashed the reeds totally flattening them. I know it looks like the planted areas are totally fenced in this is to prevent the wildfowl grazers but it dose allow the fish in.

The only draw back fishing at Leazes Park is its like no other water its a public city centre park and this is not everyone's cup of tea.
I used to be at leazes and personally think you are talking out of your bum.
Chinese whispers on the bank. I ask you !!
If its got t1ts or tyres, its gonna be trouble.

So your of the opinion that it was OK for the past committee not to have renewed the insurance, not to informed the membership of this and still allow anglers to fish uninsured the consequence's if a serious accident had occurred would of been dire and seen the end of the club and angling in the Leazes Park.
I don't fish for the bits but have been present when matches have been taking place the net weights are good and those fishing for pleasure also report good bags and there has been fish introduced. The habitat, there is now plants growing in the lake where there was none its a start, from small acorns mighty oaks grow as they say. Its not only the plants that are growing so is the clubs bank balance and membership. So the present committee for the short space of time they have been elected I think they have worked extremely hard and turned the club around and given the club a positive future for its members and fellow anglers of the Leazes Park.

I could ask someone else But they all seem to know you and don't want to be wasting there time.
