  • Thornborough.

Had a trip to Thornborough to enjoy the peace and the tranquil location. I was expecting to walk away with a blank but was rewarded with a 13lb Common Carp.
Thornborough is a shared water to the 4in1 and Big Waters clubs its a lovely little bit of water and easy to get to.
I would of liked to of inserted a photo of the little beauty but I'm bloody hopeless behind a keyboard so the best I could do was place a photo in my album, why isn't it as easy doing the same with a thread or post are is it just me

Rumours have it there's still a good healthy head of Tench and that there's still Bream. The Carp don't seem to show in large numbers as they used to as they did 4-5 years ago. But its definitely a little piece of heaven.

Thanks Big Sid, it's nice to know that some fish survived, it is a lovely quite water. I remember when I use to fish it especially at dusk watching the ghost carp come to the surface.
Look forward to your future reports

I'm unsure with regards to fishing on a day ticket you would have to contact either Big Waters or the 4 in 1 for more information. I would guess you can't but its only a guess.
Thornborough can be found if heading West on the A69 from Newcastle at the rounabout take the 2nd exit for Corbridge the junction for Thornborough will be on your right and is sign posted. You head up the road passing some house on your left once passed you'll see a piece of grass where you park a dry stone wall and a shed climb over the stlye and you've arrived at heaven
