    lovely pics takes me back to fly fishing on the derwent, where abouts was that it look like bottom of Allens ford

        Ah I see above Allens ford hence the untouched trees vegetation. How is the river now since the poisoning a few years back? I suppose top end of river would be ok?

          Yeah top ends ok but there's plenty fish about all the way down, it's been stocked back up and has some nice fish in it now. Here's one I got a blackhall couple weeks ago about 1 to 1 1/2lb stocked fish though,

            Stocked fish, but its still got a good tail on it must of been in a while or stocked fish are better farmed than years ago, I miss casting the old fluff lol

                              Hello Dave I use a 9ft 5wt because that's all I have ATM, getting a 7ft 3wt soon though. 9ft is fine on certain stretches but there's plenty stretches where it's too long, also would depend on what you are fishing ie drys or nymphs as a longer rod is better for nymphing
