Just found an interesting article dating back 700 years. It is a petition by the commons to the then king Edwad III to take measures to protect the sea bed from dredging for fish. This was in 1376
In 700 years what has been done to prevent the long term damage ? The people back then seemed pretty clued up on how the environment was being affected. They relied on the resource and wanted it to be sustainable.
