Come and ask the big question to
DEFRA, CEFAS, Northumberland IFCA & The Angling Trust
“What is the future of Sea Angling
    In Northumberland”

Sea Angling 2012 Project – Come to Morpeth and Find Out More
    Did you know?

    • Sea angling in England is worth over £2b to the economy.
    • There are an estimated 886,000 sea anglers in England.
    • Sea anglers caught an estimated 10 million fish in 2012.
    • Sea angling supports nearly 24,000 jobs across England.
These are just a few of the results from Sea Angling 2012 report, the biggest ever study into sea angling in England, which was published in November.
Come to an open meeting from 19.00 – 21.00 at The Waterford Lodge Hotel, Castle Square, Morpeth, NE61 1YD on Tuesday January 28th 2014 to hear more about the project from the team that carried it out. This is the chance for sea anglers in Northumberland to find out more about the results of the biggest ever survey of sea angling to have been carried out in England.

Sorry for the delay in response It has been a sad two days in Amble saying farewell to Eddie and Mark(the 2 lads from the trawler in Whitby) they were both junior and senior members of ASAC may they RIP.

Thank you to those that turned up including 2 tackle shop owners and a charter boat skipper and of course Alan Charlton our resident roving reporter. We at least told DEFRA Northumberland is interested and has a voice. Noted I may say by our local IFCA.

The Headlines for you that do not like reports.

Our thoughts are with the families of Eddy and Mark.

Thanks for providing the headline statistics Les. I had thought they would provide more local info to compare against the national figures. Hopefully they have got the message that we are interested. It was interesting to speak to the lady from DEFRA.

Ali, the local IFCA hope to do that in the future with the RSA strategy
http://www.nifca.gov.uk/wp-content/u...g-Strategy.pdf a living document, so not set in stone, this is just a starting point.
I will drill down into the report and see what I can find.
