That a strong accusation, you are talking about a skipper with a top reputation.

That the right kind of crack for people to stop reporting and the members loose the opportunity to have a decent read and look at photos, to get the blood rushin.
Funny, never a shot to back your reports up !

Hartlepool boats have been getting odd ones and twos before the blow, been in the trawl nets for over fortnight before the blow.
Last two trips, loads of bait balls showing up on the plotter when we were out.

                    Mmmmh

                    it is getting sensitive

the truth is somewhere in the middle I guess.

I do observe that the Whitby catch reports are always done very commercial. There is hardly ever a -no catch- report and the caught fish are always on stretched arms held into the camera.

The Whitby skippers are experts in making a mediocre trip sound like a top day.

Sapphire seems to be one of the most honest "reporters" and has little hesitation to put reports of really bad days up and also does not talk them pretty.

I think its everybodies own business how they run their business, its up to us to read it and interpret it correctly.

I know one of the guys who was on Sea Otter 2 that day. No camera trickery at all! As the Skipper said on his post, the Cod probably wouldn't be there and he was right they weren't. Everyone gets frustrated when there is no fish getting caught, but no need to throw in nonsense about dates on photos.

They do tend to post the good days and make them perhaps sound slightly better, but then so do others Peter!!

                      Dear oh dear.

What is a hobby for us is a business for the skippers.

We as the customers and contributors to a well read forum should not doubt the professionalism and conduct of them.

I have been on charters from 4 different harbours in the North East and since I have my own boat, I realise what a difficult and inflammatory environment in can be (remember the billyturbot situation !)

2012 was awful beyond belief and 2013 has started in a way that it could be even worse...no wonder that nerves are turning blank when the fishing turned blank.

There are mooring fees, river fees, insurances, mortgages to be paid.

Stop slagging each others off, stay positive and together until the fishing picks up
