Great report Norman, my biggest worry is it's going to be another season like last!
The only difference being without the good early May/June fishing! Hopefully the reports from Sunday confirm normality and fish catching is resumed!

      Good effort Norman,

We were out briefly yesterday and the result was what you'd expect. I'm sure the visibility must have been down to 12inches - even at 4 miles out. Was going to give it a shot today but have decided to have a cack for some turbot off the shore - hate to say it but I think that's the only place I may encounter anything with fins and gills!!

Graham - when are you back???

these three things don't go together JV - "Whitby", "23 mile", "Zero Cod"

Lets hope it was just that big blow and they'll soon be back.....

          a similar story.....

Similar on Saturday at Amble, started early and fished all day. Knew the sea would be a bit cloudy after the blow but being clever chaps we decided to fish large baits instead of lures. So loaded up peeler crab, squid etc etc. Fished hard ground and wrecks up to 6 mile out...result not even a bite from anything at all but crew managed a tiny whiting and a half dead coalie.
Still a nice day to be out I heard that boats launching late afternoon were picking up odd fish in the evening.

Same here Norman, a couple of keepers for Shady on the crab, but
Not big ones. Bert tried hard, but they wern't playing . Sorry for the Hi Jack , but if we keep adding to your No catch report
We might end up with a fry. Fish showing mid water and on bottom in some places, so not long now.

Great effort Norm/Tony, hope they return soon. The weather, the bad, that is, is returning this week with a northerly again. just can't get a settled period at all.
I've just returned from the west coast with the caravan, and whilst gorging myself with bbq food in the calm conditions thinking of yous lot heaving fish over the gunnels, couldn't wait to get back, only to find things very tough.
Might give it a go Monday morning for a couple of hours if the southerly wind hasn't picked up.

Cheers for at least giving it a go though Norman - like we said at the time, if we had woken up on saturday morning and looked out the window we would have been kicking ourselves!!

It seems though our lack of action has been mirrored up and down t'coast so at least we aren't special
                      Ooh a new vid!

haha yes our failure has at least been vilified ....

but you got to be in it to win it and it could have just been so different .....
still, no worries, it would have been different if everyone else had reported good catches

roll on .... errrrm the next good catch, as I'm uncertain of the next few weekends looking at the long range weather .......

                        tight lines all
