Had a trip out with Kingcod Deano today. Tried a couple of wrecks, drift was good despite the wind gusting at times, Deano dropped one off which seemed decent and had a couple of takes, but no fish landed, so after a couple of hours we headed in to do a bit of bait fishing .

Got anchored up half a mile off the pier, one rod uptide and 2 rods downtide, fresh crab, lug, mussel and rag.....Had bites from the off and landed loads of scotchies and small tommies but sadly no keepers....

A good day to be afloat, sunburnt face and good crack with Deano who is now known as Kingbleg Deano...

I think there is a big "Detour" sign on the seabed at Hartlepool Ray...

Still good to see fish coming in from anywhere though....

Hang in there Chris, little ones and scotchies this week, better fish next week. From today’s reports they’re showing up now and must be around your way soon.
