  • We came, we tried, we failed

Set off at 6:45 this morning for Hartlepool got on the Northstar at 7:30 beautiful in the harbour it was, until we got out to sea

The plan was to have a bit uptiding as there was only me and my dad on the boat, neither me nor Jim could get any more punters. Got our lines set and my dad made the bad news that he was gonna vomit from the freshening northeast swell not a bite from te 1st cast and by now I could see my dad getting worse, he couldn't even bait up his rod, poor bloke !!!

Anyway I asked him if he minded taking us back in as I was starting to feel a bit worse for ware

    Back in for 10:15

Thanks very much for giving it a try him your a top bloke

Tough luck m8. Nothing worse than seeing someone close being ill, especially when you have most likely been so excited about getting out there. My old man got quite sick a couple of years ago up at amble with a long easy swell and had to put up with it for a good few hours as the boat was full. I felt terrible for him.

Funny how one day you can cope with it and others get you. Better luck next time.

I am or was the worlds worse at spewing on the boat when fishing but i have got new tablets now which seem to be the key. Used to be called sea legs but are now known as traveleze. Been ok for a while.

Hi mate ,talking to an old seadog in Yarmouth last year and he reckons the best thing for sickness is ginger. He says eat ginger biscuits before and when you are out .Worth a try.
The chinese that live and work on them junks in Hong Kong apparantly chew ginger all day to stop them being seasick.
                Hope it works for you.

Hard lines mate. Nowt worse than looking forward to a trip out only to see it spoilt by the weather. Massive well done to the skipper for going out with only 2 aboard though, not many would of done that.
Stick a packet of ginger snaps in your bag mate and when your moving between wrecks have a nibble on a couple to keep the sickness at bay.
                      Tight lines

                        Arrrr sea sickness.....

                        Stay out of the cabin
Try and look at land rather than the boat deck or water
Think of fishing or anything else but ebing sick as most of it is in the mind
Dont stand next to someone munching on a curry sarni
