  • Before the blow Newbiggin by the sea 10/3/19

Spotted a window for this morning , launched into a slight NE swell , paddled round the point assisted by the strong ebbing tide and anchored up in 40ish depth with bits showing on the sounder. Baiting with frozen lug, dirty squid , mussel and oily fish bites came steadily with a good stamp of cod . Wind started to get squally after couple hours so upanchored and made my way back leaving fish still biting , kept 7 to around 6lb . Best sess for a while albeit aborted but safety first .

Well done on getting out, catching fish and making the correct decision, even when the fish were still biting. Safety first.

Nice one Dave some crackin fish, thanks for posting. Aye it's so easy to get caught up in the moment but you did the right thing by upping anchor and getting back to shore.

Well done Dave, cracking little session. Especially as it was one that had to be cut short for safety reasons. I'm not talking about the squally weather either. I am more thinking about you sinking your new yak with the weight of all the cod had you stayed LOl

Ha, Aye I can't wait Dave. Actually I am hoping next weeks weather provides one of those little windows your so good at taking advantage of. If it does, I intend doing the same. This time with bait!
