Well done heading North and taking a chance with the shads. It was a toss up for us whether to go North or South but we went South in the lee off Souter where we dropped the anchor and fished with fresh mussel, squid, blacks, bluey etc. Obviously the wrong call, the water was scruffy, the cliffs didn't afford us much shelter and we only had three fish. To top it off, the calor gas ran out before the bacon cooked or the kettle boiled and oh yes the marina rang me at home tonight because the cabin and galley lights had been left on.

That’s an interesting pair of reports, contrasting the north and south divide and how patchy the fish are just now.

Making a return trip to turn the lights off is bad enough Tony but running out of gas so no bacon butties and coffee – inexcusable.
