No 2 days the same

Decided to head to souter yesterday it was still quite lumpy the water was folthy and fishing not much better 3 of us only had 3 small codling and a hag fish all day so we wrnt back to the earl of zetland to lick our wounds gist thing this morning i was back at the marina to try again by myself this time i headed north to newbiggin there was hardly any tide run so decided to just drift eith 2 rods out and the usual smelly baits so after an hour of drifting over some really good ground with not one bite i headed a lot closer in and dropped the anchor bang got a tommy straight away and thats how it went all day really but the fish werr small save 3 they were 41 to 45 cm but i put em back it was a lovely morning flat calm and sunny i did notice a lot of fish high up in the water must be hunting saneel there was a lot of bird activity too gannets diving a bit further out well i will try again 2morra b4 the weather turns crap again tight lines

Nice report and what a great day you had to be out.

The mack's must be in early and being chased by the gannets unless it was the usual dolphin pod chasing the bait fish to the surface.

Nice to read your report and good on you on a couple of points one getting out there, two catching fish, and three taking the time to write up your report. Nice to see a report as there becoming few and far between thanks its much appreciated

Aye I agree with codhw, nice to see someone bothering to report. A couple of pics of the catch would be even further appreciated.

When the weather is this calm and settled it would be great to be out. Bet it's not at the weekend!! Good to read your report though. Keeps the hope alive.
