Well ive been home since mon night didnt think i was ganna get out but after a few drinks in memory of our great friend nat (ken)cole me n daz decided to go out next morning at 7am 7am daz but daz had a bit too much after i left so once i knew he slept in i arrive at a mark close to the can the water was filthy big dirty smelly baits it was squid n blacks on one rod macky n mussell on the other first three drops three 3lbers buzzing then a bit quiet then a suprise 2 doggies one more keeper then slack water got 2 more tommys that went back but once the tide turned the bites dried right up so went back to the marina all in all a very good few few hours all in eastrly winds too tight lines

They used to be my Mam and Dad's favourite when they were still here. Down to the Fish and Chip Shop for 'Sweet William' in batter. Once you manage to peel the skin off (with strong Pliers) it's a lovely, firm meat. Rather tasty, if you can be bothered with the faff...I can!

I'm off work all this week and was hoping to get out, but it doesn't look encouraging. Good to know the fish are there though.

You hear of doggies down at Seaham but hadn't seen signs of them up our way yet. I've caught them before in Scotland but they don't do a lot when hooked. Still, better than blanking.

I'll have to try one some day. The thought of heaving away with a pair of pliers to skin them and then let the ammonia seep out of the meat seems a lot more hassle than running a couple of fillets off a cod.
