Myself, John (Rodbemder) and Ray (Tilly H) locked out at Royal Quays about 8ish and headed North on the last of the ebb tide.
Strong Westerlies were forecast but as we arrived at our first mark off Cambois there was hardly enough breeze to work the shads. We were nevertheless all into decent keepers from the very first drop and after a crazy 15 mins we had a dozen nice clean Cod of around 3 to 4lb. We moved off the mark as a local potter started hauling beside us and we made our way to another mark off Alcan Power Station. By this time the Westerly had freshened but the fish were still chasing the lures although the majority of the Cod around this mark were returned being just keeping size or under. We fished our way back home with a few drifts off Blyth where we found more fish around the 3 to 5lb stamp. Rodbender John was under orders to be home at a decent time so we headed back to RQ's around 2pm with about 25 decent fish and a cracking day was had by all.
