A grey day but the fishing was awesome. Left Amble before low water and headed for Boulmer but before I got there decided to stop at Foxton. From the first drop it was cod and more cod, mainly 2/3 lbers and a bit smaller but also the odd 4/5 lbers. I was taking two and often three at a time, thinking I had a great fish on. I was the only boat there for about 4 hours. It was hard work, although they were only coming up from 30 feet. It was relentless and every now and then there was Mackerel to be had. I kept about 8 cod around 5/6 lb and I guess I put back over 100 fish including many around 4lb. Around 2:30 it stopped. I lost no tackle and that's a first for me. I had been out on Monday but the fish today were a lot bigger. Fishing south was very similar.
