  • First for me

This morning the sun was up, tide was low, sea was flat and I was heading out!
    [IMG][/IMG]

Hoping for the prize of big cod I was quickly encouraged by a little tommy taking the twin tail lure
    [IMG][/IMG]
Then another small codling did the same
    [IMG][/IMG]
Aside from the small cod, a couple of Mackerel had also taken the twintail so in an attempt to get passed them I switched to a different larger type jelly lure which unbelievably produced a slightly bigger cod.

However it was still not big enough to keep. So after what seemed like an age of plugging away to no avail I attached a string of daylights above the my original lure and bingo.

Then amongst all the Mackerel along came a beautiful Wrasse. Not really sure what type of wrasse but it is certainly a first for me and lovely to see.
    [IMG][/IMG]
looked even better just below the surface as I put it back.
    [IMG][/IMG]
After drifting south for a mile or so yet another Codling came on board, but again too small to keep. So back it went

20 Mackerel was not the intended target however they didn't go to waste as all the neighbours are now fed!

But hey whatever, big cod or no big cod what a great day to be out!!

Yes your right Dave, nice to see them again. I am sure they will be on your patch very soon. Might even slow your cod catching rate down lol.
