  • Cod at the can

Taking advantage of the exceptional weather I made arrangemnets to take my mate Rocky out on his first kayak fishing trip. We headed to Whitley Bay and despite the tide being right out things looked absolutely perfect.

We made our way out to the Yellow Can

Once out there we found it really was as good as it looked from the shore. Sitting about a mile off the sea was like a mill pond.

Infact the sun was so hot I had to take cover under my old baseball cap.

Very quickly we were into the cod. Much to the delight of rocky the learner.

We actually ended up with 9 keepers between us. Which is the kindest way of saying Rocky got 6 and I only got 3. That showed him how to go on lol.

Ha ha yes the weather and the fish provided the perfect introduction to what kayak fishing can be! Great Day.
