  • new to fishing-help with good spots

    good day.
I have recently purchased a boat for fishing, and must have found some lucky spots the few times i managed to get out as we hit a shoal of mackeral the first and second time, then hit a shoal of whiting, threw most of them back as they were too small, no more than 10 to 12 inches (kept a few for the pot!). This was fishing about a mile and a half out opposite the Hugh peir. Have only been out once and not hit any fish, mind you only been out 5 or 6 times, and not at all for the last 6 weeks. Anyway, my reason for joining here is to ask if there any good fishing spots you more experienced fishermen may want to share with a newbie? I understand good spots are hard to find, and when you have one you may not want to give it away. Are there any wrecks that are no more than a few miles out?
    Cheers.
