    The Alderney Ring method is great Ray, i gave Arthur the set up i had a couple of years back, have a look on Youtube, i think there is a vid on there to show it working.
    I usually anchor up in 40-70 feet of water when uptiding. I havent anchored up any deeper than that so cant really comment.
    Ask Adele to get you a windlass for Xmas, i had one on the M/F brilliant bit of kit.....push the button in the cab and up it comes.....

      Cracking Ray, winter fishing! I didn't have a single day off last time home so I am itching to get off if the weather is do-able when I get home for a go at this anchoring mullarkey!
      Was it broken ground you anchored on and nothing too rough? My plan if I get a chance is to try two wrecks(that have produced this year for us) and if there's nothing straight to anchor!
