  • WHitby + Shads = COD 4th oct

Well with the weather been up n down the last week,
i couldnt of picked a better day to go to whitby on the boats.
Light winds little swell all that was needed was the fish to be there,
Booked on the sea otter 2 we set sail at 7 to get out while the bridge was open.
we travelled for just short of a hour and then we was fishing.
The first wreck looked promsing. The wreck showed massive areas of fish
but as we dropped nothing was happening, drift after drift the fish werent feeding,
All different coloured shads were tried, then some of the lads tried bait, but to noavail..
So off we went to the next wreck.
Couldnt belive a few miles made. Bang, Bang,Bang we all where hitting the fish,
Then all up, and around we went again.
This went on for a few hours , then off we went again to a bit of rough ground.
The stamp of fish here was a lot better but not as many, the fish were averaging 8 lb
I was lucky i manage best cod of the day just short of 10lb.
A nice Ling of 16lb was taken here aswell.
As the day progressed a steady stream of fish kept coming aboard, right uo to the end.
what a cracking day to go fishing, i bet there was over 120 fish caught with 8 lads on board.

Waiting for everyone to board,Skies clearing

Nice sunset comingout as we set sail

A couple of nearly full boxes of fish

here me with a nice 10lb cod

group photo at the end of the day
