  • amble sat 22nd

a 9am start gave the five lads who had booked the boat thu fri sat the chance to devour yet another fine breakfast supplied by derek at the schooner
on thursday they fished in wind and rain for diddly squat

friday they didnt fish atall due to weather conditions

    what would to day bring

the start was pretty cold and sea was not very nice, however as the day went on a bit of sunshine less wind and a much flatter sea made the warlords little bit of ocean a better place to be,unless of course you wanted to catch fish

so here we are its 3pm and we have 1 ling for our efforts(mackeral and whiting dont count)

with a 1hr 20 minute run to home we went shopping at the last chance hotel, would there be any one in

    yeeeeesssssssss

    1hr and 10minutes later 16 fish,all ling to keep

nothing massive best 8lb plus worst 5lb plus

the rig that nobbled this lot was a flowing trace 3ft and pennel rig baited with mackerel

there were lots of "knocks" and fish that werent connected with

interestingly(or perhaps not)all fish landed were barely hooked, several chucking the hooks whilst in the net

bit later back into port than planned, but time well spent

Sounds a good day out and rescued the weekend for the anglers Duncan.

Also great to know you are out again on Warlord, your hand must be healing well. I was just about to PM you. Today Lynn and I booked Church Point Caravan Park in Newbiggin by the Sea for Easter, so finally we will get back out with you and Jeff.
