Bert, Paul & myself this morning, Kyle was coming but had chronological difficulties.
We headed out about 6.30am armed with various baits with the intention repeating last weeks species hunt but with a flat calm sea and no wind the plans soon changed.
The first wreck about 3 mile out was alive with whiting, coley and mackerel with a few codling thrown in. After a while we got sick of the whiting and coley and shifted to a wreck close by, the drift was perfect for big baits so over they went. Bert was first in with a ling at 11.5lb.
Next drift Paul shouts "here we go" as his rod bent over and began bouncing, the result a PB ling of 17lb - Get in there!!!
Next drift and Paul still buzzing declares "All we need now is a monster cod" well he didn't have to wait long. Another PB of 22lb
Eventually it was my turn and I managed a 11lb ling so doubles for everyone.
We ended up with half a dozen ling and half a dozen cod.
Well done Paul on two cracking PB's
Big thanks to Bert (as ever) for a great morning afloat and well done for putting us over the fish .
Sorry the photos aren't that good Paul, hopefully yours are better quality.
