  • big beach on the kayak

the morning started off with ian texting me at about 05.15
to say it was foggy and a waste of time so stayed in bed , loooked out the window no fog , but thought ians in the caravan right on the coast so texted tim [torsking ] to tell him i was staying in bed , got a message back to say ARE YOUR GLASSES STEAMED UP ;D ;D looked out the window clear as a bell , so set off and was on the water , for 6.15
trowling a set of mackeral feathers on the way to the wreck , hitting plenty of mackeral ,kept about half a dozen and paddled out to the wreck to be met by tim , as he was paddling from the tyne and out through the piers
had a couple of cod ,then started trolling two jellyworms trying for a pollock
the rod was nearly snatched out the rod holder ,fish on great fight but was surprised when i got it to the surface a cod of about 4 1/2lb
had to go back in about 10 as i had a few jobs to finish in the house
think tim had a few decent cod aswell with his a better stamp of fish with one upto 8lb
a couple of photos on the beach when i landed as i had left my camera in the car

all the cod seemed to give a good fight today and all were caught on plastics

still wondering how ians windows were foggged up ;D ;D jeff

I'm loving all this kyak fishing reports, great pics mate. I cant stand being in the sea though it frightens the life out of me! However my lass is a Kyak instructor past england swimmer, so she thinks I'm daft being afraid to jump in a kyak, which ****es me right off! Does the kyak capsize often and if it does how do you save your gear, (Ill show her I'm not scared of water). My male ego is well and truly challenged here. Is it safe how do you get back on the bloody thing if you fall in??

very rare that you fall in ive fell in once in 3 years and that was my own fault
sometimes get tipped out in the surf when landing
easy to get back on just need to practice self rescues evey now and then and only go out when conditions are favourably for your abillity
plenty lads round the north east to go out with and help you out jeff
