  • Local Reefs and Cod

Well conditions looked good 1st thing this morning so headed out light scales and one rod as I'm dying dragging the yak back up the hill ! so out I headed to the reefs and straight into the cod and everything drop was producing good quality cod

even the wrecks was producing good fish still

Plenty of nice cod in the 6 to 7 lb mark coming up and all returned safely so kept 2 nice fish for my supper and hopefully head back out again in the morning for more fun.

    All caught again on shads

    great fish

those Kyaks look an amazing way to fish but looks a tad dangerous (cod biting ya knackers lol). What happens if you capsize is it easy to get back on and what happens if you hook something to big to haul onto yak? Good pics mate

lol they are very good fun mark and can get you some good cod all year round with regards to capsizing just need to watch the conditions you go out in but always be aware really.
Every now and then just do capsize drills just so you know in yourself that you can get back in and always carry a safety knife just to cut yourself clear as theres leashes and stuff all around the yak.

its great fun and safe ..... honest

Looks like a cracking day there mate. I'm out in mine tommorow so hopefuly much of the same. The kayaks are realy stable to be honest and as was said keep practicing the drills and all is fine.
