It was just me and the eldest laddy Fin out for a couple of hours of a sneaky evening session tonight. We were out of the piers for half five to a smooth-ish sea.

We headed off to an inshore wreck that we had been tipped off was full of all sorts. I was hoping that Fin would manage the full lot of dropping down, jigging his gear, hooking and retreiving a fish. He managed it no bother with his best fish being a coalie of over 2lb and a new PB for him! I don't know who had a bigger smile, me or him!
I am pleased my constant telling him to hold onto the boat at all times is paying off!
    Pirking:

    Hooking it:

    Fish onboard!

We had a load af good coalies and whiting accompanied by the everpresent mackeral but no cod for tea lastnight!
The day was rounded off amazingly well with an aerial show from the dolphins on the way in!

He didn't get a way with the last job of the day before we went home!

A good scrub down of the boat!
Off again later this week and again I can't wait! Once we get the VHF fuse blowing short sorted!

    Graham.

Brilliant Graham, I wish my kids had shown such an interest, my eldest lad is hunting and fishing mad like his dad but lives in Scotland or Ireland or Wales or wherever the hell he is now , watch Finn with that rod on the gunnels though , it's a good way to snap a rod

I think I saw you heading between the island yesterday morning just before the tide Ray, I was at my uncles at the Salt Panns at Ambke and think it was Eleda at speed?
Fin was struggling with the weight of the pirk and fish so I let him put the rod on the gunnels! If he really takes to it I will get him his own gear!

        Graham.
