Out this afternoon about two with my eldest laddy and two of his friends from school and their Dad. Off on a Mackeral hunt!
Here's my eldest taking her through the lock.

    And down the river:

The mackeral were hard work today, we tried all over just out of the piers in the brackish water with little success then moved to the Yellow can and hit into them straight away! Typical!

Anyway with only two scothchies to show for a few drifts other than the mackeral we had a move to an inshore wreck to try for some cod for tea.
The fishing was a bit too much for the kids on the wreck and they concentrated on tellng us when we were on the wreck by being gathered around the sounder!
It wasn't long before we were into a few fish for tea with Steve, Adam and Scott's dad getting the biggest on a twintail. He said he was fast but as I felt his braid it kicked away!

I think he was happier than the kids! Over the moon with his 6 mackeral, a dab and a cod tally!

My eldest succumbed to sea sickness!Much the same as me at his age, it didn't help him throwing a sickly mars bar milkshake down his neck and then staying in the cabin! As soon as we got in he was asking when we could come again so his enthusiasm wasn't dampened too much.

Off tomorrow with Micky for another go at it, can't wait!

    Graham.
