Only me second ever trip out on a boat, went a funny green colour first time so was expecting the same again. Stopped just outside piers to catch some fresh mackrel for bait n less than 10 mins had easily 50+ on board, coming aboard 3s n 4s at a time. Moved on to a few wrecks n were getting plenty of whiting but few of decent size. Got snagged up on a wreck but could feel summik banging away on another one of me hooks, held on for about 5 mins n even considered cutting me line then bang it just popped out. Started reeling in n the fish was still on, gets it up n its me biggest ever fish - ling for 8 n half pound! GET IN!! Has another drift over same wreck n hits another ling for 5 pound. stayed out until around 2pm but nowt else caught apart from mackrel n more whiting.
Had a great day, never felt sick or went green once and even won the sweep!
