The theme of today was steam, try another wreck......steam, try another wreck....steam! I am sure you get the drift, no pun intended.
Off at half four with a thomson cruise liner just coming up the river;


Straight out to some mid range wrecks and it was hard graft with wreck sfter wreck proving fruitless with even the whiting absent. Once the tide started to run again at least the whiting turned up!
After 47 miles covered and 11 wrecks fished it was a solitary codling that Micky retrned as we thought we would get more, it was only 3lb, a solitary ling about 4lb, again returned and a pollack that I got;


I read what Norman said about working for your fish and I think that is our struggling point today and hopefuly it wil get better the more we get to know the Tyne, a day like yesterday we would have known exactly where to go up at Amble.

Can't wait for the midweek sessions with no study to do. Might see you this week Ray! Not giving away where I am heading though!

Yesterday left me wondering if the cod were on the first wrecks I fished and just were not interested or if they just weren't there
Its a queer old game is this fishing, the wrecks I fished in the morning I'd have bet on producing fish, the one I caught from I would normaly have motored straight past without a second thought , I only stopped at it to fill in some time and mark it up on my plotter
I'm looking at Wednesday for my next outing Graham, all being well with the weather etc, I'll drop you a pm Tuesday night if I'm definitely going.
I wouldn't worry too much about the lack of success you are having from the Tyne Graham , I can't see it being long before the queen is amongst the fish

I'm sure it will all come good on the next trip out Graham. You must have hit the wrecks when they were off the feed. How many times do you fish a wreck and there's nowt, then try the same wreck on your way back, and it produces fish, so the fish must have been there all the time, just not switched on. Hope you score on Wednesday.

Team Slinky has noticed the bait table as well...apparently according to Mickey it came with the boat but I have seen then on eBay....from Australia!

Hard going lads - I'm convinced that if we get anywhere half near to having some summer weather it'll all come good (he says)

As Tony says it will all be good once the jet stream sorts itself out!
The table came with her but I am sure CTC could get one in, it's spot on for filleting as well, if my memory serves me right!

our's sits over the outboard well, but it's a bit low for the filleting lark



i think i may call over to CTC and see what kinda £ they sell for, it's a good idea to sit one in the rod holder..
