The theme of today was steam, try another wreck......steam, try another wreck....steam! I am sure you get the drift, no pun intended.
Off at half four with a thomson cruise liner just coming up the river;
Straight out to some mid range wrecks and it was hard graft with wreck sfter wreck proving fruitless with even the whiting absent. Once the tide started to run again at least the whiting turned up!
After 47 miles covered and 11 wrecks fished it was a solitary codling that Micky retrned as we thought we would get more, it was only 3lb, a solitary ling about 4lb, again returned and a pollack that I got;
I read what Norman said about working for your fish and I think that is our struggling point today and hopefuly it wil get better the more we get to know the Tyne, a day like yesterday we would have known exactly where to go up at Amble.
Can't wait for the midweek sessions with no study to do. Might see you this week Ray! Not giving away where I am heading though!
