Just Bert and myself this morning, Kyle was supposed to be joining us but cancelled late last night. We were out the piers for about 4.30am where we waited for Slinky. It wasn't long before we were joined by Norman, Tony & Scotty, after the lads handed over a gratefully received brekkie (Cheers!) we headed off to last weeks hot spot.
Things seemed pretty slow there so we headed off to another wreck, Slinky stuck it out and were apparently rewarded with some nice fish
Our next wreck was teeming with fish, if you could avoid the pesky whitings there were some codlings around 2-3lb to be had, After landing about 25 of these prime eaters as Bert predicted, the fish went off as the tide slackened.
We tried a few more wrecks and picked up a few fish here and there until we arrived at another wreck packed with better fish.
Bert started showing off and pulled in three cod about 8lb at once .
Possible language alert here in the video, although I'm pretty sure he says "It's pirking three"
I managed a pollack about 8lb on an orange shad and a ling about the same weight on bait.
We called it day around 11.0am and headed home with 37 cod, 2 ling and a pollack.
Thanks as ever for another cracking morning Bert.
