Hello lads had day out at Craster yesterday on Douggies new boat. Here is a pic of me and my mate Martin - things looked spot on.
We headed out and had first drop half mile or so. It was maccy and a couple of Launce. Tried shad but cod few and far between. It picked up later and we really started to roll. Here another mate Kev in the blue getting afree shower of salt water----i used my head and stayed under the canopy or in the cab with Doug.
We had a visit by a fisheries protection launch which was a first for me. They operate from a larger ship or come out at the Tyne or Amble. Two 70 brake horse power outboards meant they were quick.
Also seen some modern art by the castle. They light them up at night with different colours-something to do with olympics i think.
All in all a poor day for cod. My mate Kev won sweep with biggest over 4lb and i came second with one just under. Still enjoyed the day and was nice to be out.
Tight lines Mick.
