Set off from the quay at 4.30am with Bert, keith, and Les, after Norman (slinky) and Tony had throttled back and give us a wave on their way out ( insomniacs ) , We were greeted in the harbour with a moody easterly sea, and overcast skies.
Bert tried a few wrecks offshore, but the fish wern't playing out, then he put us on a couple of shots that held a good amount of big coalies , decent codling up to 7lb and 1 ling about 6lb
, we also drifted over a huge shoal of big mackerel, so took a few of them for the ling bait / Grill .
We met up with Norman and TGW out at sea and had a few drifts together, and a bit banter. it was a good day's fishing in the end with the best company.
    Thanks again Lads.

      Nice one Uncle!!

No photos but at least one SNAP

8'3" is much better than 8'6" anyway
      Cheers, Keith.

It was a Fladen Maxximus 8'6" two piece job, a week after I recommended the rods Bert's snapped at the butt spigot and a week later mine went in the exact same place. I was luckier than Bert (if that's possible ) and got the top section back so I've managed to repair it, we'll see how long it lasts.
                Cheers, Keith.
