  • Hadston for cod 8/12/16.

Couldn't resist a couple of hours off Hadston before dusk , launched with Leighton into a little SE swell no problem and virtually calm offshore with no wind . Paddled out to a drop off about a mile out and dropped anchor all new to my mate who hasn't anchored before but no bother in the benign conditions .

Fish from the off with Leighton landing a codling before I settled

Steady stream of cod with the odd better to 5lb and a couple of good wrasse .

Using two hook flappers with lug/rag and squid .

Leighton baiting with squid not sure if he had other baits .

    Dusk came all too soon

An interesting landing followed , Leighton looking in the surf for his fish recovered 5, rest went as discards been there done it lol.

Cant believe the weather today for Dec and good catching as well . Good learning experience for Leighton .

How fabulous. Hard to believe you are sitting a mile off when you look at how calm the sea was. Great pictures. Good to see it is still possible to find the odd shoal of cod. Things down my end have been a bit hitty miss lately. Well done to you both.
