Managed an early dart from work yesterday and headed up Amble with Will and Henry. Was a bit concerned that the S.E wind might make it a no show - however got to amble at 6 and it was totally still with an oily sea. We headed to the rough ground off the Northern Hill first where we found a few fish.
The sea was smooth but there was a slight lazy swell which ultimtely got the better of the two greenhornes!
Anyway to cut too the chase we ended up with around 12 keepers and threw a few smaller ones back. Pirks did the most damage last night with daylights and shads putting in an appearance also. I managed the best fish this season - a Cod a shade under 9lb....
We headed in around 10pm with the moon out and not a minute to spare regarding light! Managed to get this picture just outside of the marina..
An enjoyable night and I'll be back up there this afternoon to give it another shot!
