  • Sapphire sunday.

Just read chris scotts report on sapphire, was also on the boat with 4 mates on sunday.I caught cod between 5-7lb and a 8lb ling all on orange or white shads, one of the lads with me had 2 pollock the biggest at 8 lb along with cod and ling,my other 2 mates had nice cod and ling on hokis baited with squid. We did'nt go to far today, would guess about 7-8 miles off shore as it was a bit lumpy, but peter knows loads of wrecks and most had fish.As chris scott said the fish caught were a nice stamp, well done to the lad with chris on the 10lb cod.No mackies today but it felt like reall summer boat fishing when the sun came out.Would reccomend Sapphire to anyone,Pete is a top bloke who offers a great service to any one who likes boat fishing, cheers gary.

                Enjoyable day

As previously said a good days fishing on the Sapphire; seemed that the cod were feeding well in the morning with good takes from the first drop, things eased up as the day progressed and the deeper wrecks were giving mainly Whiting. Peter put the boat into good drift positions and was helpful as and when required, good chatty bloke with an excitable character. I am presuming he has only recently started to charter.
Purely constructive critism would be listen to your lads, once or twice we over fished wrecks that were clearly giving nothing, if the fish are'nt playing then move on, that wreck will be there another day. I am sure as time goes on he will not just be a 'top bloke' but a very good charter skipper. Booked another trip with him, see how that goes.
