On Tuesday I left "Grace" tied up on her berth and took a trip on callisto (a rather smart Jeanneau Merry Fisher 635) to fish the "Geordie wrecks".
Conditions were perfect and our first drift over the Firelight produced a double figure Cod but after that we hardly had a bite despite visiting at least another 10 wrecks. We decided to change tactics and come inside to drift the rough ground off the Cullercoats arches and it turned out to be a smart move. Each drift produced a couple of fish and we soon had a dozen decent Cod which we decided was our limit for the day. Several more fish were landed and returned before it went very quiet during slack water so we called it a day and headed home.
