Yesterday on 'Debra-Ann' (owner Mark Potts & skippered by Paul Longstaff) out of Roker mariner.
Myself, Paul & Steven Simonsen had a lazy start and left port at 9am steaming north to the whitburn hard ground, first six drops brought six nice clean codling to the boat with the best around 2lb. all taken on good old fashioned home made cod daylights baited with Macky chunks, prawn baited shads attracted a few takes but failed to land any fish this trip.
Swapped areas and on the second drop I landed my new PB, a Ling of 22.5lb. After that nothing else so we decided to go for the wrecks.
Plenty of the dreaded Mackerel at all depths, even hugging the bottom but again few other fish.
Eventually skipper Paul & Steven got a Ling a-piece and Paul a Bobble Eyed poor cod to finish his day, meantime I topped up my score with a cheecky 4.5lb pollock(again on baited daylights).
