Well guys we had our last club match on Douggies boat Wednesday. To start off with weather fine so off we went. Only six anglers on the boat.
My mate Derek got a nice keeper Codling on his first drop with ragworm baited hockeyes and I thought game on.
Unfortunatly I couldn't have been more wrong. A big tide mixed with a strong wind had us flying along on the drift and holding bottom was hard work. Tried all sorts but most effective was blue shads.
There was about 6 size codling caught on the boat and 2 Mackeral.
Lost a shed load of gear as well lol. We were meant to fish till 4pm but decided to come in at 3pm as wind and sea picked up.
Dave who is Douggies son and was skipper for the day tried his hardest to find the fish moving all over the place but it was just one of those days.
    Tight lines Mick.
Personal best, 12.5lb Tope Scotland. 22/05/2012.
