  • Whitburn cod

With the calm seas forcast for today I enjoyed a bit dabble off the coast at Whitburn. While making my way out the horizon looked a bit threatening

but the sea was perfect with hardly any swell at all so I positioned myself to drift around off the coast at Latimers. Pretty soon I was into my first cod.

Then not long after I ended up with two more

What I did notice was this tiny eating crab came out of the mouth of the last cod.

Just shows they dont only eat soft back crabs.
All in all it was a great little session

and allthough I forgot my scales, I am sure the three cod ranged somewhere between 3lb for the smallest and 51b for the fat one.

    Well chuffed.
