  • Wasabi and Seas The Day evening 4/7

It was planned as an evening fishing with our NESA VIP Mark (aka KAYOS).....so we watched the forecast and thought Monday night is calm and has a nice tide. We even organised between us to use 2 boats and wanted to go to a nice wreck....then Mark called off with a sore back....aquired on the rocky ride with Norman aggravated by the caravan life (and lifestyle?!)

Anyway, a few phone calls and we were 5 crazy characters to take on the forecasted monsoon!!

And monsoon it was...awful rain and with it a snotty SE triggered windwave...awful to get out far...but we persevered to beyond 6 miles.

The wreck was barely fishable...fast drift and a very uncomfortable swell....if KAYOS would have joint us I could have admitted him straight to Orthopedic Surgery afterwards.

We all were exhausted and looked like drowned rats....(thanks Eddie for the waterproofs! ) Also thanks Andy (Rutherfords) for mending 3 Fladen Maxximus with broken guards.

    Oh aye...the fishing....

few mackies and once the drift gave us a chance we had actually....outstanding fishing.

We managed more than 12 fish between us and Ashok had the best...an 11lb cod

The second best fell to James, a ling of 10 1/2lb

we also had a ling of 9 1/2lb and a few cod of 7-8lb

not bad....we only fished 2 hours!!

The run back in was heary and scary with a lumpy swell in the back....SE wind is awful!!

However...back in and we all were happy we gave it a go

Pete, Eddie, James, Ashok and the biggest fish !

The only missing one was KAYOS!

Aye - a very productive two hours - conditions were pretty awful but if you don't go you never know - looking at the snotty sea conditions (as in the words of Chris Evans) breathe in, breathe out, move on.

Feel a bit better now and hoping for a great day on JFK2 tomorrow.

Shame the 15lb Cod has already been caught.
