  • Wasabi 7th and 9th June on the wrecks

Been 10 days in my old country....well...West Germany doesn't really exist anymore...but that is too political...I see the Northeast of England now as my home...still support Germany at the EURO !!

HOWEVER...came back with the ferry on Tuesday and could not resist going out alone...nice conditions.

First stop on Zeeland where I met Richie and Eddie (On A Roll)...nice.

My phone was out of charge, so no pics...

I moved north and Richie moved south....I fished 3 wrecks and on the shads I had a cod per drift...nice big hard fighting chaps. Ended the short trip with 10 or so cod, most 5-8lb. On top I caught a nice sunburn !!

Went out on Thursday very early again with Pete. We went to the same wrecks where I have done well on Tuesday and the story was similar. The white 4inch sidewinder delivered almost a cod per drop. Other baits were nowhere near as good.

We fished 4 wrecks in the 6-7 nm distance and finished with 20 feisty cod and 1 ling...most pleasing was the average size again..most fish over 5lb and some 6-7lb

    Best was Pete's 9pounder

....and my first mackies of the season.

    Excellent day....

Tried a couple of wrecks on the way home, but the inshore was green and dirty and we caught nowt

Nice fishing, nice sea state and nice shoes Norbert. Kayos will be proud of you.

It's good to see the mackerel making more of an appearance now as well as the wrecks starting to produce.

Nice 1 Norbert - good report - some canny fish there - Pete is still smiling - like you reported the water inshore is still a tad mucky but a few maki starting to show is a better sign. Tends to be a few herring also. Fish finder was showing lots of fish on Tuesday but they are not just playing the game at the moment.
