After picking up Reg and Paul at Mill Dam we headed out on a perfect sea to a couple of local wrecks but there was nothing doing.
We tried a few wrecks North and picked up one or two fish at each wreck but it was hard going.
When the tide turned and gathered pace we started to see some action and reached our quota (when the fish box is full) in a very short time. The wind suddenly freshened from the South and the drift became too quick for wrecking so we headed in to the rough ground and continued to pick up some decent fish.
Paul had not boat fished before and was delighted to land some quality fish including his first Pollock
The Pirk did very little and the Shads did nothing but the flowing trace with Mackerel strip did most of the damage. The day started quietly but it turned out to be a good day and I estimate we caught at least 40 fish.
