  • Shady :Saturday 27th August.

After a sleepless night of packing gear and making pirks the trip had arrived....still gutted about finding a hundred peeler in the gararge id taken out and forgot to put back in to get some macky...all defrosted and black ...never the less crack on ...fishing at 0500am ....wakes up looks at my watch 0535.....slept in..looks at my phone two missed calls..after aquick re-gain I was in the car and at the jetty for 6 with little breakfast.Burt and Keith were just fine tuning the boat before a quick wave to Slinky Kate as she passed us. Slight drizzle before we hit the first wreck.Plenty whiting and macky to start and In between them was Cod. First rip and into a size Cod after that not much happened so we decided to go for Ling. After a quick inspection I primed my ling rig up one of "Berts " which had brought me luck on the previous trip. Big baits and staright down ...few nibbles and few misses by the lads when bang ..my Maximus doubled over ..initally I thought I was stuck ,however a few confirmatory nods of the rod and I began to winch up a double figure Ling and a P/B at that.Championano...good start the box was slowley but surley filling up.Just before 1130...we went back to the same patch where we started origionally ,and the Cod came on for about 15 min... then silence ..in that time we were all pulling Cod in as well as the whooopee 's signaling from the Slinky Kate ...in Short... a good day was had like every trip and a few "wets" (pints) in the hive to finish.

      Nice one Paul.

That pic doesn't do your ling justice, didn't realise it was a PB or the scales would have been out, it was a good 10-11lb though.
      Cheers, Keith.

Nice fish and pic mate, and congrats on your P.B. Know the sinking feeling discovering all your hard work only fit for the bin. (peeler)
