Aye chris we had wind and tide together so was a bit faster than I`d have liked ....
as for solo ... surprisingly enough and I know bert and the lads will back this up I was nearly always a solo fisherman until NESA got popular.
The early years of NESA and I mean some 12 years ago we all read about each others tales and exploits and bit by bit got to know a lot of like minded people.
As NESA became more popular invites were passed and there was and has been ever since a mix of people out on each others boats.
It's lift ya glasses time and drink to the friendships gained from NESA ... and now of coure BSA as well, and ......more importantly .... the instigator, Jaybee ..........

    well done jaybee ......

Wow , 12 years is something Norm, and you're approaching 4000 posts, i reckon that deserves a well done .

At times i don't mind the solo days, gives you time to think, without distractions, then when i get into fish i wish Tel was there.

What is the story behind Jaybee , is he a local lad and angler, being a relative newbee it would be nice to know a bit of history behing NESA.

Chris, the 4000 post score is on this present board, it's been re-set several times over the years as the software has been updated. I think I can remember 4 distinctive different boards, the early ones being simply ever increasing lines of text.

Jaybe ws the initial designer of NESA and set it all up and administered it (sometimes with a rod of iron which was fun) I've had him out on Slinky Kate in the past many years ago.

Not heard from him for some time but I believe a few of the more senior (in posts) members may still be in touch.
He was/is a website genious and designed many sites we may have visited (I think veals is, or may be, one of them???)
The last I heard of Jaybee he was concentrating on Wildlife photography.
Not sure but this MAY>>> be his site, North East Wildlife | flowers | insects | mammals | countryside |birds | fungi
all the links and subject matter fit and theres an almost give away line buried in there that it could be the jaybee of old, it says ... quote

"My only restriction on use is that no direct linking is to be used to images on my server - failure to do that could lead to you facing an embarrassing situation when I change the original image to one not quite so nice."

Now that sounds like the jaybee I knew ....

A search from the top of page for "jaybee" brings back some old posts from this board going back to 2003 great stuff

Nice report Norman , I bet it felt strange cleaning Slinky down eh haha.

As for Jaybee he started NESA and his creation has helped me learn and see things that if not for this site I'd never have encountered.

BUT mostly it's about the like minded people I've met and fished with and become good friends with , I know they will know who I mean , obviously you're right up there with the best of them.
You can take the lad out of Walker but .......

Thats a great bit of info Norman, I've just checked out the nature website and there is an email address linking it to Jaybee, he must be a whizz with the computer, there's some cracking pics on there of North East wildlife.

Lets hope we're around for another several resets, who knows in 12 years time it may be video interactive.
