Launched 7am into a nice calm sea again and headed out to a 3mile wreck, arriving same time as 3 other boats from the Tyne. 1st drift hooked into a 6-1/2lber, and the next drift a 7lb+
Started catching scotchies and smaller codling to 2lb+, all returned, so moved on to the next wreck about 4mile off the Tyne. With the tide now on top slack water, the drift over the wreck was nice and slow. the first bite on this wreck was one of those heavy pulls down, when you instictively know it's a decent fish, so a firm strike and lift was followed by another equally firm pull backby the fish, now going berserk, shaking it's head and diving for the wreck. Steady presure slowly lifted it into the safety zone and up to the surface only to scare the crap out of a waiting gull as it thrashed on the surface.
It weighed 12lb- 11ozs and a lovely golden colour.
Ended up with 7 keepers and a big grin on my face, enjoyed the 3hrs out, then headed home.
