Saturday was ok although not spectacular with the water being dirty up to six mile out. We had a late start and early finish but managed a dozen decent Cod and Ling on a lumpy sea and unpredictable drift. However, with the forecast for light Easterly's on Sunday we left RQ's at 7am in a more positive frame of mind and headed to the local wrecks where we found the water a tad cleaner. It was a slow start with just the odd fish coming on board and it was getting crowded so we headed North to some of our favourite marks and wrecks. We had a bumper day with some cracking Cod and Ling to 10lb and they were still in a feeding frenzy when we called it a day and headed for home. I fished pirks for most of the day and probably top scored but in the afternoon the flowing trace with Mackerel strip & Prawn came into it's own when the pirk lost it's attraction.
We threw a lot of fish back but I reckon we must have landed close to eighty prime Cod and ling.
