hauled my self onto the boat at 06 50 to be geeted by the sight of the apprentice crewman
as the party of 8 from jarrow had booked the boat,it had been invited as a guest, unknown to me

i knew there was something else the fishing

water was filthy for up to 2 miles off so it was off to some ground about 5 miles off in a lumpy sea.with a drift of 2knots helping us along warlord was nearly up on the plane

a few fish came on the boat but nowt exciting, slack water saw a move to the wecks which didnt produce a vast amount either,by this time
,about 12ish seas had started to settle down.

jeff decided, wisely, to back to the ground and it paid off to some degree.

although today was quieter i suppose all had a fish or four, well short of their last trip(jarrow lads march on amble cod)

personally i think the season is rollocksed, probably little or no more westerly no more sunny days, and severe drop in temps

its being so happy that keeps me going heh heh

and water was pretty clear off shore.pirks took nowt, best trace seemed to be a red hokki type baited with mackeral

Nice one dunk, yes severe drift this morning as the tide and wind joined from the south, we hit the dirty water line on our way back in to a wreck as far as 4 mile out. .... but there's still time left yet I'm sure, right up until and into october ..... or at least I hope there is

Well there you go Duncan , I had a cracking day out today , found the cod on two wrecks and took most of them on pirks , I was out from 7.00am and wouldn't have come back in I was enjoying it so much , but the box of fish kept looking at me and saying "fillet me , fillet me" and then there's the boat clean up and all the fish packaging to do at home .............. I'm definitely going to start fishing catch and release
The sea bed must have been paved with coalies in one area I fished , and don't they fight hard , I reckon pound for pound they must be the best fighters out of the fish we catch .
